Landmark Archaeology's core senior personnel have collectively over 75 years experience in conducting cultural resource management projects throughout the United States including the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South and North Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming. The firm's two principals,  Susan Gade (M.S.-University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) and  Derrick J. Marcucci (Ph.D. candidate-SUNY Albany), are registered professional archeologists (RPAs) who meet the Secretary of Interior's Standards for Historic Preservation Projects (36 CFR Part 61).

Landmark Archaeology, Inc. conducts all phases of archaeological research including Phase I site identification studies, Phase II site evaluations, and Phase III data recoveries.   Landmark's projects have ranged in scope and complexity from one day Phase I identification surveys requiring a supervisor and one to two field technicians, to several month mitigations requiring multidisciplinary teams and field crews of 20 individuals.  Landmark Archaeology, Inc. uses high precision GPS equipment, total stations, and GIS software to manage spatial data.  Our GPS equipment is capable of recording artifacts and features to submeter levels of accuracy.

Landmark Archaeology, Inc. works with many state and federal agencies as well as private and public sector clients in compliance with federal (Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act) and state (e.g., Section 14.09 of the NYS Historic Preservation Act; SEQRA) laws relevant to cultural resources.  Agencies that Landmark has worked with include: the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Federal Highway Department, and the New York Department of Environmental Conservation.  Public sector clients include Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library; the City of Newburgh; the towns of Guilderland, Halfmoon, Poestenkill, Schaghticoke, and Stillwater as well as Cambridge Central School District; North Colonie Central School District; Windham, Ashland, Jewett Central School; and Schalmont Central Schools.  Private sector clients include: Martin Marietta, Marietta Georgia, and The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York.
